Your States Department of State will be located in your states
capitol.

notarization.
The States Department of State routinely see these types of requests
and this will be the first time you don't get funny looks or asked a
lot of questions. Don't forget to find out what days and times your
State State Department is open for notary authentications. They may
only have a few specific days and times this service is offered.
Have them notarize your Affidavit of Single Status (certificate of
marriagability). You will not need anything else notarized from your
States State Department. Your birth certificate and your police
report are both issued by the state and will already have state
level notary seals on them. You do not have to take either of them
back to your Clerk of the Courts office.
