Local Government visa china marriage k3

Clerk Of The Court:

The only document you will need from the Clerks office is the Affidavit of Single Status (Marriagability Certificate).  Every county in America is different so the best place to start looking for the Clerks office is in the telephone directory in the blue pages. Find the listing and make a few calls before going down there. Ask them questions about the process. They may get confused with you when you tell them you are getting married in China and they will tell you they "don't do that".

All you need is a piece of paper that is produced by the Clerks office stating your address, age, and whether or not you've ever been married before.  Actually, don't tell them you are getting married until after you've asked them to provide you with the paper so there is less confusion. To make matters a little simpler we've found a generic form created by the government of China as to what they are asking for. You can find the form here. It is now called an Affidavit of Single Status.

If you've lived in the same place your whole life this step will be about as simple as it can get. If you've lived in other counties and/or other states then your current Clerks office may or may not provide you with a complete time line of you not being married. You may have to contact the other Clerks offices. I'm not sure they can do this via phone but after going to the Clerks office myself I don't see why not.

The document will be attached to a blue piece of construction paper because it will have then been entered into the Clerks records. It will also have the Clerk of the Courts Seal stamped on the front page. This is what you need to take the document to the next level of notarization.

The charge for this document should be around $5-10 but varies by county.
